40 years. 40 memories. 40 weeks

Describing the importance of ESTRO for the German Society of Medical Physics (DGMP), we go back to the year 1986, when ESTRO 5 was held in Baden-Baden, Germany. Here, the corner stone for the strong integration between the different disciplines in radiation oncology, namely clinicians, medical physicists and radiation biologists were laid. Session, intended for one discipline, catched multidisciplinary interest so that people had to sit on the stairs. From there on, ESTRO is truly living the multidisciplinary approach!

ESTRO is perfectly complementing our national activities in teaching and community meetings: Adding interdisciplinarity&internationality and giving medical physicists in Germany, either working clinic or research, a European family. Happy birthday, ESTRO!
