Supporting over 7600 professionals
ESTRO 2020 will move to a fully digital format from 28 November – 1 December 2020.
Over the past months, ESTRO has been monitoring the evolution of the travelling restrictions linked to the COVID-19 pandemic. The uncertain forecasts for the next months have led the Board of Directors to re-think the concept that we imagined for our congress. Therefore, I would like to inform you that it is confirmed that ESTRO 2020 will take place from 28 November – 1 December 2020 in a fully digital setting.
Initially we tried to keep the physical meeting, because we are aware of the importance of live interaction with colleagues and industry. However, we were prepared for this possibility, and therefore, are confident that we can deliver a scientific event of the highest quality.
We have been working to deliver the scientific programme just as effectively online. There will also be ample opportunity for exchange among participants and the possibility to visit an innovative digital exhibition: we would like to ensure a high level of interaction for the whole duration of the event.
Times of crisis are also times to bring forth innovation and change, and our goal is to harness this opportunity and provide our community with a diverse and engaging virtual experience.
These are difficult times for our Society: we miss the live activities as much as you, and our financial situation is under pressure. We would like to thank you for bearing with us through these times of uncertainty. We appreciate your support and we have all the intention to live up to the trust that you have placed in us.
The programme is available on the ESTRO 2020 webpage. The programme remains unchanged and it is enhanced by the addition of a selection of proffered papers sessions from the World Congress of Brachytherapy. In the meantime, you can refer to the Frequently Asked Questions for all practical questions regarding your registration.
We look forward to welcoming you to the first digital annual meeting!
Kind regards,
Ben Slotman, ESTRO President
